To load actions in Photoshop or Photoshop Elements just double click: Collage from single image.atn or right click on it and choose Open with > Photoshop or Photoshop Elements.
Before running any action adjust image to proportions 3:2 for example: 900px Width by 600px Height. Actions are created for landscape images only. There isn’t any limitation in image size or resolution, it can be and 6000px by 4000px with resolution 300. You must have only one Background layer before running any action, if you have layered image flatten it from Layer > Flatten Image.
To run action click on action name (eg. Create collage 1) in Actions panel (Window > Actions) then click Play button. Follow instructions on screen. Last step is to adjust layer effect or border around each piece. There are 2 effects which you can adjust: Drop Shadow and Inner Glow. Watch on image while dragging sliders and when you are satisfied click OK in Layer Style dialog.
When running Create your collage actions you will be able to adjust position and size of each piece that will be copied from original image. When running actions in Photoshop border will be added automatically immediately after you confirm size and position of selection so you can see your collage in progress. You can change border later.
If you do not like result of created collage delete all layers beside Background layer then run next action.
